Indonesia THC
The Indonesia tax office intends to apply a 10% VAT on Pelindo III (including ports of Semarang and Surabaya) for all port charges and stevedoring. As such, Member Lines of the FEFC wish to advise that if the 10% VAT is implemented, we will have to increase the Indonesia Terminal Handling Charge (THC) for these ports by the same amount from USD 150/230 per 20’/40’ to USD 165/250 per 20’/40’.
The increase will be applied to other ports, if and when a similar application of VAT applies.

Congestion Surcharge on Reefer Equipment at St. Petersburg
Member Lines of the FEFC wish to inform customers, that congestion at the port of St. Petersburg is resulting in increased container storage cost being incurred. This extra storage cost is particularly high for reefer equipment where additional expenses such as electricity supply/monitoring have to be met.
Therefore, with effect 5th September 2005 until further notice, for Reefer Containers moving into/out of St. Petersburg, a Congestion Surcharge of USD 275/Reefer Container will apply.
